@alwaysbearded founder completing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

You know how Always Beard Lifestyle™  loves to support great causes and raising awareness surrounding them.  On an ongoing basis, we are continually striving to raise awareness for Colorectal Cancer and currently donate 10% of all proceeds raised from the sale of in-house made Always Beard Lifestyle™ products to the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada.  Furthermore, with every package we ship, we also send out awareness handouts urging people to get their butts screened in order to help beat Colorectal Cancer, the second highest cancer killer of both woman and men in Canada.

Well with that said, not all diseases are as common. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS for short) or Lou Gehrig’s disease kills at least 2-3 Canadians each day.  It is a fatal neurodegenerative disease that causes degeneration of the upper and lower motor neurons in both the brain and spinal cord, and kills 80% of people who are diagnosed within 2-5 years.

Other neurodegenerative diseases include Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. According to the World Health Organization, neurodegenerative diseases are predicted to surpass cancer as the second leading cause of death in Canada by 2040.

ALS has no known cure or effective treatment yet.  Approximately 2,500 – 3,000 Canadians currently live with this fatal disease.

Help us spread awareness of this disease through social media awareness and donation to the research.

Visit www.als.ca to learn more and to donate. We donated and completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.  Share our video in hopes of spreading the awareness.

We salute you!
